Guys Just Want to Have Fun Too! Mancations

Guys like to hang out and get together just as much as women, but men frown on the term Boys Getaway, so . . . Mancations.  Sounds much more macho.  There are great travel opportunities that guys can participate in together.  Everything from biking and hiking to a trip to a brewery.  Shockingly, golf comes to mind as a great male trip.  The trips take a little planning, but you can always use a travel agent for that, and then your responsibilities are reduced to picking the trip you like the best, paying for it, and packing your bag. 

It’s always a good idea to give yourself some time to get these things organized.  That way everyone in the group can set the time aside, especially when there are families involved, and budget things out so that there is no sticker shock.  Whether you want to hit the slopes and go skiing, or visit a national park and camp or book a charter and go deep sea fishing, a little planning and you have a smooth enjoyable time for all concerned.

If you and your crew are into craft beers, and want to visit your favorite brewery, many breweries offer tours of their properties and beer tastings.  Plan it right, and maybe there is a sporting event or concert nearby that everyone will enjoy.  Combine it with some other things you like to do, like golfing or biking and now you’re having fun.

Once you travel hundreds of miles for a sporting event, make the most of those round trip tickets and take a tour of the city you’re visiting or find out about car, hunting or boat shows, etc. that would be going on at the same time.  Again, turning this over to a travel professional means someone else does all the research and you get to have all the fun.

Ever wanted to see what if feels like to drive a race car, be a cowboy or an astronaut?  Maybe you want to try out an extreme activity like bungee jumping or white water rafting but you’re not interested in doing it alone?  Figure out which of the crew are interested, you know someone else in the gang is, and then build a mancation around the activity.

All-inclusive resorts can be a great option.  Beach, bars, and then depending on where you stay, ancient ruins in the jungle, ATV rides through the mountains, hikes to hidden waterfalls, whatever moves you.  Guys should do something for themselves once in a while, and getting a group of like-minded men together to do these things means the cost goes down as things get spread out through the group and you will have witnesses to that hole in one or that hundred foot bungee drop.
